About Us

Our story

A community-driven foundation building pathways so every child can dream, learn, and lead.

Kelfon Foundation is a community-driven, non-profit organization committed to transforming the lives of vulnerable children and young people through education, sports, mentorship, leadership development, and life skills.

We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to dream, learn, and succeed regardless of their gender, family background, or financial circumstances. While we place a special focus on empowering the girl child — who often faces greater barriers — we equally support boys, recognizing that strong communities are built when every young person has the chance to thrive.

Founded by Kelfon Onkundi Isaboke, the Foundation was born from a simple but powerful vision: to create a future where poverty, lack of opportunity, and social challenges no longer determine a child's destiny.

Through safe learning environments, mentorship programs, basketball and other sports, educational support, and community initiatives, we help young people discover their potential, build confidence, and become responsible leaders capable of transforming their communities.

Our goal is not simply to provide assistance, but to empower young people with the knowledge, skills, and opportunities they need to create lasting change in their own lives and for future generations.

Inspiration

Walking in the footsteps of Masai Ujiri

Giants of Africa

Masai Ujiri

The tall figure beside our founder is Masai Ujiri — the Nigerian-Canadian basketball executive who founded Giants of Africa, served as president of the Toronto Raptors (including the 2019 NBA championship), and is now president of the Dallas Mavericks.

For Kelfon Onkundi Isaboke, Ujiri is a personal inspiration: proof that African leadership, basketball, and youth development can change the trajectory of a generation. Giants of Africa's work using sport to open doors for young people across the continent sits at the heart of why this Foundation exists.

Kelfon Foundation is an independent Kenyan organisation. We honour Ujiri's example; we are not a Giants of Africa programme.

For Partners & Donors

Executive summary

A concise overview for media, partners, and supporters.

Kelfon Foundation is a youth-centered non-profit organization dedicated to empowering vulnerable children and young people through education, sports, mentorship, leadership development, and community empowerment.

Our mission is to remove barriers that prevent children and youth from reaching their full potential by providing access to learning opportunities, mentorship, life skills, sports, and safe environments where they can flourish.

Our long-term vision is to establish a fully equipped Youth Empowerment Center that will serve as a hub for education, sports, innovation, leadership training, entrepreneurship, and community development.

The Foundation places special emphasis on empowering girls while ensuring boys are equally supported, recognizing that sustainable development requires investing in all young people.

By partnering with governments, schools, businesses, donors, volunteers, and international organizations, Kelfon Foundation seeks to create lasting social impact and build stronger communities across Kenya and beyond.

We measure success not only by the number of programs delivered, but by transformed lives, empowered families, stronger communities, and future leaders equipped to shape a better world.

Where We Work

Honest and transparent

Kelfon Foundation currently runs its programs through FEBA Academy and various community safe spaces. We do not yet own a dedicated facility.

The Youth Empowerment Center is a future capital project we are raising toward — not a building that already exists.
